Accordion Astrology

After realizing that I must first give an introduction to my model of Astrology, and why I think it’s useful and relevant, I’ve decided to come up with a series of talks/articles for this blog. I’ll make each one a stand-alone talk, but I will also pitch to perspective audiences that I can come in for a series of discussions, each about a different topic in Psychological Astrology. I’ve decided that there’s a particular structure to each of these talks, and that I can form the series with this structure in mind. I call it Accordion Astrology.

The structure is this: I will first talk about the cosmos, the heavens, the planets, and the gods. The large, universal things. Think of it as me playing an accordion, sliding my arms out wide to get the sound. Then I will bring the discussion back down to a person’s life (more often than not, this will be mine, as I’m most familiar with that one). This is akin to squeezing the accordion’s sides in together. Later, I’ll bring it back out to the collective, then back in again to individual lives. The different points within the talks will be the keys of my metaphorical accordion, making the notes. When you hear the whole series of talks, you’ll be hearing the melody. My version of the Music of the Spheres, as it were. [1]

While I may have made up the name Accordion Astrology, I’m sure I’m not the first to approach talking about Astrology in this way. It makes sense. We look our universe, see how it relates to our own lives, then look at others’ lives, and how they, too, relate to the world. The As Above, So Below, the In and Out of it all, the eternal waltz of the planets, the beautiful dance of an individual lifetime on Earth.

So as you read my blogs, see if you can discern the beat, detect when I’m squeezing and when I’m sliding, how the notes change and the melody progresses. I always wanted to be a musician, but was never able to master the mathematics necessary to understand it.  And now here I am, talking the tune of the cosmos. I hope you’re moved to let your mind (and body) dance and sway, to and fro, and that you are enlivened by it all.

Oh, and it’s been suggested by multiple readers that I mention that my astrological services are on offer, so please feel free to contact me for a chart or astrodice reading at:
